Also be sure to include special instructions relating to meals and gifts, if necessary, and RSVP particulars. Be sure to send out the baby shower invitations well in advance of the event. Guests will need enough advance notice to set aside time for the shower as well as purchase an appropriate gift. A longer lead time also gives you leeway to invite alternates if any of the original invitees decline. Send the invitations out no later than two to three weeks before the shower date.
